Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City has destroyed any hopes of Liverpool winning the EPL title consecutively. 4 goals from the Citizens against Liverpool’s 1 goal saw Manchester City climb to 50 points, with 1 outstanding game.

Manchester City was awarded a penalty in the first half after Fabinho fouled Sterling in the box. However, Gundogan kicked the ball wide.

An in-form Gundogan compensated for his missed penalty by scoring 2 goals from open play. Phil Foden and Sterling also scored 1 goal each, making it 4.

Liverpool got lucky in the 63rd minute with a penalty converted by Salah. He made the scoreline 1-1 at the time and hoped that would provide his teammates the momentum to push for more.

However, a clumsy Allison (Liverpool’s Goalie) made 2 grave mistakes which Manchester City quickly capitalized on to increase their lead.

Liverpool’s defensive problems persist, even after buying 2 world-class defenders. Kabak was a substitute who didn’t get playtime. Klopp would have to use his new defenders if he wants to win.

Liverpool is still 4th on the EPL table, with 40 points. 10 points below City, and 1 point above 5th place, Chelsea.

Tuchel’s Chelsea moved to 5th place after beating last-place Sheffield United, 2 goals to 1. This makes it 3 consecutive wins for Thomas Tuchel and 4 unbeaten runs since joining Chelsea.

8th place Tottenham bounced back from their consecutive defeats to grab a 2 goal win against West Brom.
