On Tuesday evening, tragedy struck in Imo State when unidentified gunmen opened fire on traditional rulers at a meeting, killing three of them.

When the hoodlums struck, the traditional rulers were holding a stakeholders’ meeting at the Njaba local council headquarters in Nnenasa.

Mike Abattam, the state’s police spokesperson, said two of the traditional rulers had been confirmed dead, and the command has begun an investigation into the case.

Obi 1 of Okwudor independent community, Eze E. Anayochukwu Durueburuo, and Eze Sampson Osunwa of Ihebineowerre autonomous community were among the monarchs reported dead.
