Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly finalised their first signing as many will categorise it ahead of the 2024/2025 club football season.

Tottenham is currently in talks with RB Leipzig to prolong Timo Werner’s loan agreement for an additional season, specifically for the 2024/2025 season, making him the club’s primary signing before the transfer window.

The former Chelsea striker joined Spurs in January 2024 on an initial loan deal until the season’s end, managing to score two goals in 14 appearances during his return to London. The initial agreement included an option for Tottenham to acquire him this summer for approximately £15 million permanently.

Nevertheless, it is now understood that Spurs are in discussions to extend Werner’s loan for another year. Werner, who previously played for Stuttgart, had a challenging two-year spell at Chelsea between 2020 and 2022 before returning to Leipzig.

He is reportedly keen on staying at Spurs after finding his form during the latter part of the season.
