A Kenyan secondary student took one of his mother’s poultry worth only N3787 to school to settle his debt of Ksh34,000 (N128K).
Mathews Simiyu was owing a year school fees. The SS2 student at the Holy Trinity High School in Saboti, Kenya upon realizing his impossible position, decided to settle his debt with one chicken.
Unsuccessful, the area MP Celeb Amasi quickly came to his young man’s rescue and settled his debt. The MP has also promised to award a scholarship to cover the boy’s remaining school fees in secondary school.
