Samsung’s Vice Chairman, Lee Jae-yong, seems to be having a jolly old ride to and from prison. He has only just been sentenced again by Seoul’s High Court to two and a half years in prison in connection to bribery and embezzlement.

Let’s not forget that this prison journey has dragged on a while. In 2017, he was sentenced to 5 years behind bars on grounds of bribery and other corruption related charges which ruined the government of the former South Korean President, Park Geun-hye, who was involved in the case and is herself flexing some 20 years in prison. But baba barely spent a year before he was set free as some of the charges were overruled and his sentence suspended. As per bossman wey im be na!
As a matter of fact, this recent sentence is as a result of a retrial which was ordered by the Supreme Court of South Korea.
But the koko of this whole kasala is; what is the fate of the Samsung company? Remember, Lee’s father and Chairman of Samsung died last year and the elder Lee has been in coma since suffering a heart attack in 2014.
We only hope the Samsung company stays afloat amidst the crisis it’s facing.
