Funmi Willoughby, a 33-year-old sales representative, was charged in a Badagry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday with allegedly stealing 160 crates of beer valued N357,100. Willoughby, whose residence was not disclosed, was charged with theft.
The defendant committed the offence between July and August, according to the Prosecution Counsel, Clement Okuiomose, at the Green House, beside Total filing station, Seme Border Area of Lagos.
According to Okuiomose, the defendant reportedly stole 160 crates of various beer brands worth N357,100 by failing to provide a sufficient account of the sales.
He claimed the beer belonged to the complainant, Musa Ibrahim. He claimed the offense was in violation of Sections 287 of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015.
The defendant entered a ‘not guilty’ plea. Mr. Fadaunsi Adefioye, the Chief Magistrate, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in the same amount.
The case was adjourned until November 9th, 2021, by Adefioye.
