According to reports reaching us now, Pres. of the federal republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari is currently in isolation after people he came in contact with on his official travel in the United Kingdom (UK) have tested positive for Covid-19.
He had to go into isolation as a necessary precaution to prevent the spread of the virus, unknowingly, and start treatment immediately.
Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, said it is in observance of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)’s guideline. According to him, besides the President, all those who accompanied him on the trip underwent the mandatory PCR test on Friday and will follow it with the second test days later.
According to the federal government, the high commission facilities have been closed down for 20 days due to contain the spread.
