The English Premier League has named the goal scored by Manchester United’s forward player, Alejandro Garnacho’s goal against Everton at Goodison Park as the goal of the 2023/24 season.

The announcement was made on the official website of the Premier League on Sunday, May 26, 2024. Alejandro Garnacho achieved this feat in the 3-0 win over Everton on Saturday, November 23, 2023.

Garnacho scored the goal with an acrobatic finish to open the scoring in the third minute of the game for the Red Devils. The youngster was running away from the goal to meet Diogo Dalot’s back-post cross with a mid-air finish that flew into the top corner of Jordan Pickford’s goalpost.

What did Garnacho say about the goal?

Just like everyone who has seen the goal, Garnacho appreciates himself for the effort that he put into getting to put the ball at the back of the net.

“I can’t believe it to be honest, I didn’t see how I scored. I just listened to the crowd and said, ‘Oh my god.'”

The Argentinian’s strike received the most combined votes from the public and a panel of football experts, topping a shortlist that featured each of the season’s Budweiser Goal of the Month winners, plus one standout strike from May.
