Nigerian indigenous rapper, Chibuzor Azubike Nelson, popularly known as Phyno, has stated that he is unconcerned with the supremacy battles in the Nigerian music industry.
The ‘Fada Fada’ crooner made this known in an exclusive chat with journalists during the listening party for his album, ‘Full-Time Job’.
Phyno also admitted that he has grown so much musically.
He said: “I feel like as time passes by, one grows, and I feel like I have grown so much musically. I’m excited for people to hear this piece of me that they haven’t really heard before.”
“I don’t do supremacy battle. I have never been a part of that conversation, and I don’t want to be. I don’t care.”
Phyno emphasized that his new album is designed for creatives, highlighting the importance of time and effort in developing one’s skills.
Meanwhile, Phyno has sent a stern warning to fans who compare him with Olamide or any other rapper.
Over the years, some fans have consistently compared Phyno, who raps mostly in Igbo, to Olamide who raps predominantly in Yoruba.
An X user with the handle @TheDamiForeign on Friday, drew another comparison between the duo when he wrote: “When it comes to rap, who’s the GOAT? Phyno versus Olamide.”
Reacting to the post, Phyno fumed: “Yo!!! Tf is wrong with u guys for God sake.. stop putting me up against my brother or anybody else for that matter. Do your banter with someone else.. na ala adi agba unu. wtf.”
