Ese Brume, a 25-year-old athlete has won Nigeria its first medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics game after completing a 6.76m leap to seal the Bronze Medal.

The Gold medal was snatched by German athlete, Malaika Mihambo while USA’s Britney Reese claimed the silver medal.

Ese Brume is Nigeria’s only representative in the Jumps following Ruth Usoro’s disqualification by the Athletics Integrity Unit.

We await the results of Blessing Oborududu in the final of the Women’s freestyle wrestling while we bask in our first medal. Congratulations to team Nigeria.
