Nantes manager, Antoine Kombouaré is impressed with Super Eagles of Nigeria winger, Moses Simon, who helped the team to record their first win of the season in the French Ligue 1.
Moses Simon recently showcased his prowess by scoring a remarkable goal for Nantes in their 2-0 victory over Auxerre last weekend.
Kombouaré described Simon’s role as a source of strength and energy for the team, praising his character and influence on the field.
While recognizing Simon’s past accomplishments and importance to the team, Kombouaré also posed a challenge for Simon to continue delivering impactful performances and prove himself once again in the upcoming games.
The coach said: “He gives strength and energy to his teammates when he is on the pitch.
“He knows how to speak out because he is small, but he has a lot of character; he does not let people walk all over him.”
The coach added, “You have a team with Simon and without Simon, but he has to prove it again this season. What he did in previous seasons was good, he made himself indispensable at times, he made himself important, but we have to reset the counters to zero.”
Following this performance, 28-year-old Moses Simon is expected to be invited for the Super Eagles AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda in September.
