A Nigerian medical student was reported to have fleed his class in anguish after discovering the corpse for practical was an old friend. The 26-year-old medical student of the University of Calabar claimed he hadn’t seen the friend for a long time, only to see him again on a practical table.
The student reportedly informed his friend’s family who told him that the deceased has been missing for a while. The deceased was thereafter rightfully claimed by the family and burial arrangements are underway.
Upon investigation, two bullet holes were found in the deceased’s body. The cause of his death remains a mystery. However, it has now come to light how unclaimed bodies are being used for practicals in medical schools.
