On Monday, October 25, the Yola Chief Magistrate Court I Admin in Adamawa state ordered that one Adamu Abubakar, 27, be detained in custody for allegedly sodomizing a 12-year-old kid.
On the 15th of October, 2021, Adamu of Jimeta Town was accused of forcibly defiling the boy through the anus, in violation of section 263 of the state penal code law.
After the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge of unnatural offence brought by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, the sitting magistrate, Abdullahi Mohammed Digil, issued the ruling.
The CP previously stated in a First Information Report (FIR) submitted to the police prosecutor, Inspector Zakka Musa, that the accused person lured the boy into an unfinished building at gate 4 of Jimeta Ultra Modern Market and forced sexual intercourse with him through the anus.
According to the prosecutor, one Rabi Mohammed of Wuro Chekke, Yola South LGA, told the police that Adamu had enticed the boy into the building and threatened to harm him if he didn’t comply.
The Chief Magistrate, who did not accept Abubakar’s plea, ordered that he be remanded in custody and that the case be extended to November 22nd, 2021.
