French Magazine, L’Equipe, has excluded Messi from their world best XI for the first time in a long time, thereby, adding to the woes of the Argentine forward.
The magazine released their World’s best XI today, which includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Lewandowski, Neymar, De Bruyne, Sergio Ramos, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Alphonso Davies, Thiago Silva, Kimmich, and Manual Neuer.
Lionel Messi suffered an awful spell in 2020 and an indication of that was his failure to win a single trophy for Barcelona. Also, the Argentine pushed for his transfer at the end of the 2020 season. All of these suggest that Messi’s heart was no longer with the club.
Nevertheless, Messi’s performance in the 2019/20 football year was tremendous. Though Barcelona finished second in the La Liga, Messi still managed to finish as the top goal scorer in the league. Also, he won numerous prestigious individual awards.
2020 was a bad year for everyone, including Lionel Messi. We simply hope he bounces back in 2021 to regain his spot among the stars.
