Once upon a time, there was a man, who loved wearing suspenders in all of his TV shows, and this became his fashion trademark! Larry King was his name, and Larry King Live was the famous show.

The long time CNN host who became famous for his dress code (suspenders on shirt) in the Larry King Live show has died at 87. He’s hosted the show for a good 25 years.

The announcement of his death was done on his official facebook page this morning by his son, Chance. Although the cause of death wasn’t mentioned in the statement, we do however, know that he’d been hospitalized earlier this January for Covid-19 at Cedar-Sinai.

Some quick facts about Larry that you should know:
He was married a total of eight times to seven different women in his lifetime.

He joined CNN in 1985.

He’s late night show, Larry King Live, debuted in 1978 and was nationally syndicated.

He started his career as a radio DJ in Miami in 1957.

He’s a heart attack survivor, this led him to open his foundation, Larry King Cardiac Foundation, in 2000 to help those without insurance afford treatment.

He underwent a treatment for cancer of the lungs in 2017.

He retired from his show in 2010

In the course of his show, he’s interviewed quite a number of prominent personalities from all spheres of life including Presidents George W. Bush and his wife Barbara, and Bill Clinton and his wife, Hilary; and has a number of awards to his name.
