Aliyu Na Idris, 26, was detained by the Kano State Hisbah board after he placed himself up for sale for N20 million.
Remember that last weekend, a young guy claiming to be a tailor went popular on social media after he was discovered strolling the streets of Kano with a sign reading “This man is for sale for N20 million."
Sheik Harun Ibn-Sina, the board’s Commander-General, confirmed the latest event on Wednesday, October 27. He stated the young man was arrested because it is illegal in Islam to sell oneself.
“Yes we arrested him yesterday (Tuesday) night and he spent the night with us but I haven’t interrogated him,” he told BBC News Pidgin, adding he would speak with Mr Idris later.
