Five days after the Nigerian youths took to the streets to protest against police brutality perpetrated mostly by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad(SARS), a rogue unit of the Nigerian Police Force(NPF), President Muhammadu Buhari addresses the issue on 12th October, 2020, at the launch of PYES(Presidential Youth Empowerment Scheme). Which is said to have been birthed in order to provide 774,000 jobs across Nigeria.
However only a part of the clip was shared on the internet.
The one minute, 37 seconds clip shared via the Presidents twitter handle was captioned as thus:
The disbanding of SARS is only the first step in our commitment to extensive police reforms in order to ensure that the primary duty of the police and other law enforcement agencies remains the protection of lives and livelihood of our people.

As at the point of this post, several youths were still protesting in different States of Nigeria, demanding an end to SARS.
Note that some protesters have been shot this afternoon while peacefully protesting in Lagos and some dead.
Will the youths call off the protest? We are keenly following the situation and will give updates duly.
