Since the Federal Government announced that schools will be resuming, people have been reacting to the news differently.
To some people (especially school owners), it’s a welcome development. Some feel schools shouldn’t be reopened because of the second wave of the coronavirus. Others are indifferent. To them, all die na die.
Seun Kuti is one of the people who feel schools shouldn’t be reopening. In an Instagram post he shared, he condemned the government for asking that schools be reopened even though the second wave of the virus has been proven to be deadlier than the first.
In the post, he said;
“That thing inside the ruling elites of this country Wey make dem hate the struggling people of this country, one day dem go tell us. This is wickedness. pure and simple. The only reason these children and undergraduates are forced to resume is because no one is willing to invest in virtual classrooms for them. There is no immediate profit to be made."
Some parents and students have however condemned the virtual classroom system on the grounds of poor network and exorbitant data rates.
