An Indian billionaire has got stirred mixed reactions after leaving a great portion of his wealth to his dog.
Ratan Tata, one of India’s most popular bussines man and billionaire reportedly willed the sum of £91million to his dog.
Ratan Tata had died earlier this month at the age of 86.
As it is customary to wil properties to loved ones before death, Ratan was said to have willed his wealth to his beloved German shepherd, Tito.
Ratan was said to have overlooked his brother, Jimmy Tata, and half sisters, Shireen and Deanna Jejeebhoy as he favors his dog.
According to family members, who described him as being generous, the news of the will didn’t come as a shock them.
Further reports showed that Mr Tata also included his pooch, his butler and general assistant, Konar Subbiah, and his cook, Rajan Shaw in his will, adding that they should each receive a large portion of his fortune. His siblings will only inherit part of his estate.
According to Suhel Seth, a close friend of Tata, the amount which has been left to Tata’s former butler and cook, both in their 50s and now taking care of Tito, is generous.
‘He has made very, very generous provisions for them’, . ‘They will never have to work again and they will be very well looked after‘. He said
