The Indigenous People of Biafra’s (IPOB) sit-at-home order, which was proclaimed across all areas of the South-East on Thursday to protest the arrest and prosecution of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has caused more grief in Enugu State.

This time, hoodlums accused of obeying the order set fire to a business and a trailer truck in Enugu East Council Area of the state’s Eke — Obinagu neighborhood along the Enugu — Abakaliki Expressway.

Around 3:30 a.m., the vehicle, which was thought to be on its way to Abakaliki, was ambushed and set ablaze. The drive, on the other hand, was believed to have gotten away unscathed.

The shop, which was believed to be filled with provisions, was torched, and the truck, which was said to belong to the CHISCO Company, was burned to its engine, according to Punch journalist who visited the scene of the tragedy. The container, on the other hand, is still intact.

Over ten security operatives, headed by police, were observed stationed at the scene to guarantee that the products in the container were not robbed.

In the meantime, the state’s roads and streets were desolate as citizens adhered to the sit-at-home directive.

Both commercial and social activities were grounded, according to Punch correspondent who monitored compliance in Emene and Abakaliki road.
