Last week Friday, residents of Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, were shocked by news of a gas explosion.
The explosion which claimed many lives, also destroyed vehicles, buildings and other things.
Although, the incident took place more than a week ago, families who lost members and/or properties are finding it hard to move on from the incident.
One of such familes is that of Mr Uruakpa. He lost three family members in the incident (two children and his mother). While he has already buried his children this Tuesday, he is still making arrangements on how his mother’s corpse can be taken to their hometown in Imo State for her funeral.
Not only did he lose his children and mother, his house was also destroyed by the explosion. He said the governor of Delta State, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, has reached out to him when the incident just happened and promised to help him out financially, but he’s yet to hear from him.
This is indeed sad.
We also gathered that most of the victims were people who were making video recordings of the explosion. Guys, try to put your life before any eyewitness video. How will you even get the credits if you die in the process?
