Argentina have confirmed their provisional squad list for the Copa America 2024 tournament which will kick off in June 2024.

In an official announcement, the defending champions Argentina have confirmed their provisional squad list of players who will represent the country and lead the title defense charge for the Copa America 2024.

Argentina, as the current Copa America champion, is scheduled to start its campaign by playing against Ecuador and Guatemala on June 9 and 14, respectively.

The original squad of 29 players will be trimmed down to 26 after these matches, following CONMEBOL’s recent decision to increase the squad size from 23 to 26.

It’s worth noting that in the last tournament, Argentina’s standout player Lionel Messi won his first international trophy as they defeated arch-rival Brazil 1-0 in the final.

Despite being 36 years old, Angel Di Maria, the scorer of the winning goal, has been named in the squad. Additionally, the squad includes three players who have clinched domestic league titles in different countries: Julian Alvarez (England – Manchester City), Lautaro Martinez (Italy – Inter Milan), and Exequiel Palacios (Germany – Bayer Leverkusen).
