Frank Lampard, arguably Chelsea’s greatest player and legend has just been sacked from his managerial position at Chelsea.

The Englishman was fired this morning after a board meeting with the club. The decision to let him go was undoubtedly a tough one as it was evident that Roman Abramovich wanted Lampard to remain in that position.

Frank Lampard was appointed as Head coach of Chelsea by Roman Abramovich in 2019. Lampard came in when the waves were strong. Chelsea had just lost their best player, Eden Hazard, and were facing a 1-year transfer ban. However, he managed the available players adequately and finished 4th in the EPL. He also reached the FA Cup final, where he lost to Arsenal.

The 2020/21 season, however, promised hope as Roman Abramovich splashed over £200 million in signing world-class players. Fans, as well as the Chelsea board, were expectant. However, their expectations fell short sooner than later.

Chelsea’s last 8 games in the EPL have been awful. Out of a potential 24 points, Chelsea managed to claim only 7 points.

The Club is yet to announce a new coach, however, we should be expecting an announcement from the club before Chelsea’s next game.
