Andre Onana underwent a drug test in October, carried out by the UEFA, where Furosemide was found in his urine, an element of Lasimac.

The Ajax and Cameroon goalkeeper was declared guilty of drug abuse by UEFA and placed on a one year ban, effective from the 5th of February.

Onana has been an incredible goalkeeper, winning individual awards in the Netherlands and Africa. His performance almost earned him a spot at Chelsea last year.

Onana has however denied intentionally using dope. The 24-year-old insists that he took the drug mistakenly, thinking it was an Aspirin.

His statement reads:

Ajax Goalkeeper, Andre Onana, Ban From Football For A Year.

Ajax Goalkeeper, Andre Onana, Ban From Football For A Year.

Ajax is standing with their player in this tough time. Ajax will appeal the judgment at the Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS).

We hope Andre Onana gets out of this one, as he has been terrific for Ajax.
