On Wednesday, 20th of October 2021, a fight between members of the Civil Society Organization and local vigilantes was averted at Ring Road, Benin, the site of the first anniversary of the #EndSARS demonstration, which shook the country last year.

Security forces from the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Edo State Security Network (local vigilante) occupied the Benin Museum Park location for the one-year EndSARS memorial in Benin, Edo State, as early as 7:30 a.m.

This enraged the CSO officer, who exited the van and was on the verge of trading punches with the local vigilante.

Apart from that, the environment was calm, thanks to the joint security personnel strategically stationed along the park's principal roads.

Four security Hilux trucks were positioned at the main entrance to the Museum Park (Forestry Route).
