On Saturday, a tanker laden with fuel toppled and spilled its contents in the Surulere area of Lagos State, putting people in danger.
When the tanker, a Mack Truck with the registration number LAGOS 961 XJ, crashed at Stadium Bus Stop along Funsho Williams Avenue in Surulere, it was carrying 33, 000 gallons of Premium Motor Spirit.
CSP Adebayo Adeoya, the Divisional Police Officer, promptly notified the Lagos State Transport Management Authority, the Lagos Emergency Management Agency, and firefighters.
A police force then blocked off the accident area, as well as providing protection to the firefighters and others.
The effort to evacuate the fallen tanker is still underway, as police remain on the scene to protect lives and property and prevent hoodlums from scooping the petroleum.
