And Joe Biden has finally been sworn in as the 46th president of the US!

A position he pursued for years got sealed in less than a minute. A little fact check:

Prior to 2020, Mr. Biden ran for the presidency twice, and twice, he’d failed. But every event seemed to have turned in his favour in his third run as he won.

He’s also on record as the oldest president to take the oath of office, at 78 years.

The 59th inauguration which took place at the Capitol building under heavy security had in attendance the “powers that be" in the US including three former presidents and their wives; George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Former vice president, Mike Pence, was also in attendance as im Oga (Mr Trump) no gri come.

Lady Gaga took the centre stage as she performed the US national anthem…with a golden mic. You needed to see her outfit, ehn! Other performances which made the ceremony lit included those of Jennifer Lopez, Garth Brooks, and Amanda Gorman, a beautiful and articulate 22 years old poet.

After taking his oath of office which was administered by US Supreme Court Chief Justice, John Roberts, Mr. Biden gave his first presidential speech. He declared that “democracy has prevailed" and pledged to be the president of “all Americans" including those who voted against him.

Now that America is done with Trump’s era of drama and verbal attacks, let’s see what era Biden’s administration will unfold. Congratulations Mr. President!
